"International Printer of the Year 2008" Award for Pragati Offset

Hyderabad-based Pragati Offset Pvt. Ltd., (Narendra Paruchuri CEO) India's leading printer, has earned the distinction of being honoured as world's number one printer for the second time when the company was conferred the prestigious "SAPPI International Printer of the Year 2008" award. It was in 2006 that Pragati created history by being the first printing company from India as well as from the entire Asian, Australian and South/Central American region to ever win this award, which had so far gone only to printers from North America, Europe and South Africa. At a function held recently in Cape Town, South Africa, Mr. Narendra Paruchuri, CEO of Pragati Offset received the award for Pragati's own 2008 calendar. NTR PRANGANAM (GUNTUR): It was a sea of people at the Yuva Garjana venue with the event receiving an overwhelming response to the call given by the party to youth to come to the meeting to provide it an impetus to get back to power in the 2009 Assembly elections. On Wednesday every possible road leading to Acharya Nagarjuna University on the National Highway No.5 was packed with people and vehicles. People lustily cheered every dialogue of Telugu Desam Party leaders with the mention of Junior NTR by Nandamuri Harikrishna receiving the maximum claps. Festive mood A festive mood prevailed at the venue from last night and families in large numbers made a beeline to the venue till 11 a.m. on Wednesday. More than 20 trains stopped at Nagarjuna Nagar railway station that was non-functional for the regular train traffic. While the organisers did not want the trains to stop here, the Railway authoriries found it convenient and time saving to stop them at the station 500 metres from the venue.

TRIMEX to invest Rs 2,250 cr in ilmenite mining

TRIMEX Industries (Prasad Koneru Managing Director) announced that it will commence ilmenite mining operations in the next two months in the Srikurmam district of Andhra Pradesh, where it plans to invest Rs 2,250 crore. The area has proven reserves of 5.5 million tons of ilmenite and about 50 per cent of the land area specified in the mining lease was owned by the government. TRIMEX would be executing mining operations and related projects through its wholly owned subsidiary, TRIMEX Sands. The current capital expenditure stands at Rs 250 crore and was expected to climb to Rs 2,250 crore in five years. TRIMEX would hold the mining lease for a period of 30 years from the date of the lease award and was renewable for another 30 years. Ilmenite is used to produce titanium dioxide, a key ingredient in creating white pigments in high quality paints, paper and plastics.
